Egyptian Lettering Styles in Vintage Movie Posters.
Historical studies of the “golden age” of the Egyptian film industry, from the 1940s to the mid1960-s, have paid little attention to the colorful posters that advertised those films. The purpose is to highlight the artistic style, variation, and evolution of the artwork created and how prominent they are until today. The project is an attempt to create a documentation as well as to classify the different lettering styles as a guide to designers and art enthusiasts where they can easily build on creating works and even construct future digitized typefaces based on the Egyptian advertising flavors at the age of modernism.
